Since I already wrote about dance floor overtures, I figured I should write up a post about a girl who had obviously been interested in dancing with me. What I did and what she did will be included.
The first time I noticed her she had moved in the same area on the dance floor. I dismissed her early on, was somewhat unsure whether she had been attracted to me or my friend. We were both in the area, and he attracts a certain amount of attention with his unique dancing style, he usually has women attracted to him.
I just danced around and waited for a moment when me and my buddy were going to separate, figure out her attraction, I also like to look around and see my easy options. Luckily he needed a drink so he walked away. I danced a few feet away, then danced away a few more feet. I did this to see if she was attracted to me, as well as to see how attracted she was to me. She followed me and moved around the dance floor.
At that point, her attraction was quite obvious, she was not only following me around the dance floor but I was getting repeated eye contact. Her torso was facing toward me now, no matter what direction I was in, I noticed as I danced around. Another guy tried to dance with her, she put her arms up first then her hand extended flat. As if to say stop if she was a traffic cop. A lot of times when we are trying to get someone to stop we push our hand flat as if to say stop, it could be at our sides(flat parallel to the ground) or it could be put up in front of you to say stop.
This woman had been making solid eye contact through out the night. When we did make eye contact she would pull her hair behind her ear on some occasions. On other occasions she would dance with a little more character, shaking a little more to the beat and elevating her hands. She had a smile on her face and she was having fun. She would point her foot towards me while she danced and it was quite obvious she was attracted to me.
These are obvious signs that she was doing, out of the sixteen signs I listed on the Dance Floor Overtures blog she had in the first 20 minutes: Made eye contact(1), invaded my space(2), chose to dance near me(3), smiled at me (4), faced her torso toward me (6), pointed her foot at me (7), danced with more emphasis gaining attention (8), preened(10), she made “incidental” contact with me (t0uch) (11), chose a route to walk by me(12), advertise her feminine side(13), submissive signals(14). That should show you guys how much can be shown in a short period of time and how natural all of this stuff really is, but also remember that you can miss all of this so easily and it just looks like some girl around. Being aware of all of these things, can easily elevate your confidence and escalate your chances with multiple women, after all the most successful male mates aren’t just attractive they are also responsive.
She did continue on showing more signs of attraction, she started to copy my dancing (9), this is how we started dancing together. She liked my style of dancing, and was attracted to me because of it. She tried to dance like me, but had a very hard time. I have a move where I stand on my toe and slide my other foot back, it is an off shoot of the moon walk. It is far more difficult then it reads, but she was trying to get my attention and dance with me. Copying my dancing is a form of isopraxism and it often times illustrates when you “like” someone but not necessarily are attracted to them. On a dance floor however, it is a lot more of an attraction signal we don’t try and dance like strangers unless we are attracted to them.
In this case I had been dancing with my usual style. Which means I was taking up a large amount of space compared with many other possible “mates” on the dance floor. I also appeared to be a quality mate because of my rhythmic dancing. A good dancing style, that attracted attention and was above average(there is lots of pop and some smoothness involved with my dancing style). I flailed my arms around(taking up more space and showing low stress) and smiled. I popped my shoulders around representing a strong young healthy Male. I made sure to have a good time. All of these are alpha traits on a dance floor. That was how I represented a good sexual choice for reproduction, most of my style works off of our evolution, sexual choice. Looking like the best mate and attracting attention in doing so.
With this girl I made strong eye contact and smiled at her(a bigger smile when we made eye contact). It works pretty well, then I would dance up on her and get close, touching legs and eventually this led to small talk here and there. I got her name, found out somethings about her and got her number with ease. This is how easy it is on a dance floor, that is what is so great about learning to dance, and learning to represent a great mate. When you get solid enough everything comes to you and you just enjoy your success.
